BISCUITS CAFE

* Date:  Feb 18, 2009
* Address multiple sites..but we went to the one at 5137 NE Sandy Blvd, Portland, Oregon
* Phone: 503-288-8271
* Hours: breakfast served all day, every day -see link for details
* Link:  Biscuits Cafe

* Comments of Decor: no charm, common chain restaurant decor, booths and tables. Seating is well spaced so it is not overcrowded
* The Food Was: standard breakfast fare--you get a lot of food and there was nothing much to cheer or hiss about -- good but nothing special
* You Ought to Try: those among us who like sweet potatoes will like the Sweet Potato Pancakes
* The Service Was available and efficient
* Of special note -- we have to be honest--we are not drawn to chain restaurants --and there are so very many wonderful, special, creative places to go in Portland that we are probably a bit biased regarding this establishment
* We will go back? probably not

  1. returned to Biscuits--this time the one in Oregon City. Spacious, nothing interesting in the decor--but the following motto was on the wall " We don't serve fast food, we serve fresh food fast". They should add, the serve giant portions of it too. A single order is more than enough for tow people We observed many people getting dogie bags. East half at the restaurant and take half home. The place is a little spend -- except, when you factor in that you are getting two meals. Still the place is not as good as the array of independent eateries availabe all over PDX..but if you are in Oregon City, this is about as good as it gets. It is much better than road-side franchise or chain diners--like Sherrys or Dennys. It is not fabulous. But it serves a good solid --and big-- meal. Our party had coffee all around and the Avocado Benedict, an order of 2 Blueberry Pancakes and a Greek Omelet. The three of us could not finish the food that we got. But the bill was $30+some plus tip. So it ain't cheap
