MARCO'S CAFE

* Dates of our Visits: Sept 3, 2008 & Nov 11, 2009 (plus lots of other times)
* Address: 7910 SW 35th Ave (Multnomah Village) Portland, Oregon
* Phone Number: 503-245-0199
* Hours: breakfast is served everyday, all day
* Link: Marcos Cafe

* Comments of Decor -- when you walk in look up to see a big collection of umbrella's, hanging upside down, covering the ceiling. They've expanded into two rooms --but the tables are still crowded together and you have to look for a path to get to some of them. There is a waiting area, with lots of reading material, and it is not unusual to have to wait.
* The Food Was -- always trustworthy - The Egg Sandwich is a favorite at Marco's -- but it is hard to go wrong here.  Serving sizes are generous and the food is fresh and well prepared. If you are hungry get the Breakfast Skillet.One time we got some French toast that was not spectacular but it was certainly good-enough -so the cook may have bad days, but our experience is that does not happen often. Then one time we got an order of Cheese Blints to share--and the sharing was not so easy because they were so good.
* You Ought to Try --the hazelnut bread
* The Service Was -- serviceable
* Of special note -- Multnomah Village is a nice neighborhood and a fun place to walk around after you eat.  And, we believe in supporting independent locally owned book stores--there is a nice one, Annie Bloom's, in the village. There is likewise an expensive, but delightful, toy store up the street. Walk around, you'll see other cool stuff in this sweet neighborhood.
* We will go back? --of course
