PARADOX CAFE

* Date of our visits:  Nov 26, 2008 --and many many times since then
* Address: 3439 SE Belmont Ave
* Phone Number:  505-232-7508
* Hours:  Breakfast served all day --opens daily at 8AM
* Link:  Paradox Cafe

* Comments of Decor -- humm--what do you call this-- two rooms combined-- an island on one side where dishes and materials are stored--half of the island is surrounded by a counter with stools.  Then there are a few tables scattered about.  The second room has a refrigerator case, always stocked with a few nice looking desserts. It is mostly vegetarian--but I think there might be some meat snuck in on the side here and there.
* The Food Was --wonderful and wonderful again. We go here a lot now for various meals --bit almost every time we get something that is made with corn: corn pancakes, or what they call corn tamales (that is fried corn bread with peppers and such in them and covered with guacamole, sour cream and home made salsa.  Lots of whole grain things and vegge combos and all of it real good.
* You Ought to Try ..  the corn pancakes
* The Service ...  Is causal, and friendly but always slow--don't go here if you are in a big hurry.  The meal is cooked after you order it and it seems there is never more than one cook working.  So if there is a crowd you will have to wait your turn, but it is worth it.
* Of special note -- the theater across the street has wonderful productions. Go over and get a flyer on what is playing.
* We will go back?  we have and will continue to visit this favorite.
